This was tough to come up with a pose for as well, since I was asked to put the creature in a pose where the paw pads would be visible and it would be running through a field of flowers. Needless to say, a few practice poses did not come out too well.
Finally I got the idea that it should be leaping to catch some prey, in this case a large dragonfly. It just looks more natural to me this way.
